Empty. Just how she liked it. Mail meant people knew where she was, where she's most vunerable, so with her location hidden, she felt safe. She locked the mailbox back up and turned to face Damon. "Would you like to come in and rest a bit?" Her voice offered in a semi-kind tone as ample hips swayed towards her apartment door. The sun had just set when they arrived, dark clouds now looming under a luminous pale moon. At this part of town, the stars were clear and visible to the naked eye. Constellations were made above the complex, creating her horoscope and other connect-the-dot masterpieces. Night, the ending of day, the witching hour. People tied night time with sleep, or often crime and mischief. But to Aphrodite, it was her daytime, it was her time to live. It was quieter, calmer, and the solemn presence that it brought calmed her almost naturally. Her eyes glinted with the lights on the ceiling, the lights causing a dim yellow tint to flood the outside hall.

Damon had noted the pink flush, even if he couldn't quite see the full extent of her eyes, and for a brief, single moment, he had wished to reach out and run his hand lightly across it, just to feel the tenderness of her flesh, and to test whether or not her cheek was as warm as it appeared at that particular moment, though he wisely resisted the urge - he wasn't sure she'd appreciate it, after all, and he had enough embarrassment to deal with from her on a normal basis, he didn't need anymore. So he simply frowned when she extravagantly proclaimed his locks held a bug - he knew it was no such thing. He was fairly clean. For all the work he'd been doing, and all the grimy streets he'd previously been in. The grumpy appearance upon his handsome mien voiced such opinion, even as his smooth voice rolled, "Right. And I'm a frickin' leprechaun." He blinked once more when she exclaimed over his powers - had she not known? How had she not known? - having figured that she'd heard it through the grapevine, or that the Sire herself had told Aphrodite, seeing as they were so close and all. "Uh...," was his only response for several lingering seconds, almost as if he were little more than a dolt fumbling for some form of words. "Since shortly after I turned? I thought you already knew." He fell silent as she opened the mailbox, watching quietly as he observed the street, looking for any signs of danger, his ears attuned and alert. Though night did little when it came to calming his inner beast, and to halting the flaming temper that flared so extravagantly in his heart, it was a more comfortable time for the fire themed male - it meant the sun wasn't lingering in the skyline draining him and his abilties with its inexplicablely harrowing effects, and it meant he might go a bit longer before a good feed. The offer to come inside for a bit startled him from such thoughts, and Damon lingered on the sidewalk for a few seconds, staring after his future soul mate with his mouth slightly open before snapping it closed, determined not to show his astonishment at the offer. They had been becoming more friendly with one another lately, but...well, he'd never been invited into her place before. Though he couldn't keep his soft gray eyes from straying to her hips as she sashayed into place at the doorway, admiring the way she walked, the very elegance with which she moved, inwardly debating with himself. He wouldn't be due to go on the raid with Reese until later. It wouldn't hurt to stay here for a few hours....would it? He didn't think so. Everything else in the gang's affairs was taken care of, including the newblood that Aphro herself had just turned. A few members of their group had appeared out of the shadows within mere minutes to initiate the newbie into the fresh scenery of his change in life. Besides finding Alex and taking care of her, there was nothing else that required his immediate attention, other than turning. A process he could quite easily catch up on later. "If I won't be intruding," he mumurs softly in reply, somewhat uncharacteristically, something that might have Aphrodite wondering - as he normally was snappy, cranky, and volatile at all hours of the day and night, no matter how well rested, or how caught up he might have been, how on top of things he might be.

"Never really noticed, just thought you were a hot head.. Didn't think it would be literal. But thats cool." Her blindness caused embarrassment to rush through her emotions. Her shoulder leaned against the doorway as Damon thought his decision, her arms crossed but not an ounce of impatience hinted inside of her. Either decision, Aphrodite had a few household chores that needed to be done, but him being there could help with her dog; who was trying to push past the slender woman to investigate the newcommer. "Attila, back." She tsked her dog away, moving her leg backwards to back the dog up. Aphrodite seemed to be the small dog in a purse type person, or the person to own a super fluffy dog. So when a brute head pushed against her legs, it was easy to take a few by surprise that she'd own a doberman. The dog had been a rescue from a breeder, his ears clipped along with his tail. Something that Aphrodite tried to heal back, actually, but the amount of energy that took caused her to be bed ridden for a day or so. "He's friendly." She mentioned, patting the side of Attilas neck lovingly. "And of course you wouldn't be, you got me the place." She laughed, walking in.

"Hm. Nice recovery. Brilliant word play." Damon commented dryly, even as he raised a brow in her direction, watching as she struggled to hold the door against something that desperately wanted out. He could pick up the scent of an animal, a canine to be exact, but he hadn't expected her to own a large breed - as she had already determined, most people took her as the small terrier type of person, so when the Doberman's head appeared with a sharp bark, Damon was greatly surprised. "Friendly?" He questioned, wondering if he should take a step back - Attila looked like the slobbering type, and Damon most definitely did not want to be slobbered on. "Friendly's good." He continued in the wake of both her and the mutt's silence, something that plucked on his already irritated and irkingly short nerves. He didn't like being unruffled like this, but the appearance of the mongrel wasn't something he'd expected. He truly had thought Aphrodite would own something like a Chiuaua. Still, he resisted the urge to step back, instead moving slowly forward, hands tucked in his pants pockets as he strode determinedly forward, continuing, "So long as I'm not - " The flaming vampire was cut off midsentence as Attila rushed at him with a thrilled bark and a wagging stump of a tail when Aphrodite opened the doorway, no longer keeping the animal in check. "Wah!" He cried out in a second's flash of panic as Doberman and Vampire collided, sending the taller of the two, the dark haired bloodsucker, reeling back onto his back, the black and tan monster who'd tackled him planted firmly on his chest and smothering him in sloppy, slobbering doggy kisses. "Blech," Damon muttered, pushing his hands up beneath Attila's chin, pushing his face back. "I can see how friendly he is," the young male grumbled, turning his head and face away from the onslaught of dripping saliva.

It took a second before the scent of another entered her sinus', another her. There may have been more, but only one scent stuck out like a sore thumb to her. The source wasn't in the hallways, it was too faint, it had to be in another apartment, so it didn't entice her curiousity. When Attila had charged Damon, Aphrodite quickly surfaced back on earth and tried to reach for his collar, but the dog was much faster than her reflexes. Laughter escaped her plump and pink lips, staying back to watch for a minute. "Kind of cute." She muttered; like the laughter, it had escaped her lips before she thought of it. "Attila, heel. Now." Her voice was just as stern as her hand when it slapped the side of her thigh. Poor Damon was already covered in slobber by the time Attila did heel. The airhead of a dog sat back with its stump of a tail hitting viciously against the ground in excitement, tongue hanging from his maw and a line of saliva dripping from it. "He means well, he just gets excited with new people, you know?" Another pat to her thigh alerted her giant puppy to come back inside. Aphrodite helped up her partner in crime and walked towards the door, but her attentive nature caught his discomfort. "You really don't have to. Just let me get on some new clothes and we can go somewhere else.." She left out a shower, although she desperately needed one at this point. The blood had dried against her clothes and her skin, leaving stains somewhere along her skin and bottle blonde hair. The tips of her hair bristled together with dried blood, but her natural waves endured no harm from the impact of blood splatters. Even though she looked like she just murdered a person, and that she almost did, she still had the beauty of an angel. Her eyes still glinting its ocean blue hue, and with no hint of sorrow. Her eyes were her biggest deceivers. All of the lies they held, and all of the pain, if it were to crack through her facade, it would bring tears even to the toughest bada*s.

He accepted her aid in rising, following her towards the front door once more, showing an uncharacteristically gentler nature. "Its fine. I'll be fine. Go ahead and get cleaned up. I'll just borrow a towel." He had to admit, even like this, she was really rather lovely.
