The Forbidden City is about two hours away from the volcano the pack resides in, and is where the normal humans live, gaining its name when they first declared that the monsters known as Wolven were off limits, and not welcome in their realms. Before that, it was rather nameless, as the humans never could really contemplate a fitting label. They have since lifted the ban, though the majority of the people still shun and fear Wolven, just as they now do the vampires, wanting nothing to do with the supernatural beings. That is, if they believe in their existence in the first place. Some may even attack a supernatural out of desperation and terror, but the Wolven do not harm the humans, understanding that they fear the animal half, the wolf half, and are now unaware of the legends and the history between their respective races, dismissing the wolf blooded beings as nothing more than visions of the past and old wives tales' passed down by their mothers in an attempt to make them behave. Vampires went unnoticed for many years, and so were never officially banned; no contemplation was given to the idea until it was too late, and they had already taken over. Vampires typically have no qualms about retaliating against human attackers, often feeding off of those who dare to approach in such a bold manner.

Leah dashed in, her mouth open as she panted, her breath heaving in her chest as her lungs rose and fell, sucking in oxygen as if there was no tomorrow. Her pace was quick, her gait frantic, her eyes wild with terror and the entity known as panic. Sweat slicked her back, dripped down her shoulders and patched her sweatshirt, dripped from her hair down into the deep black of her eyes, but she did not stop, nor did she even hesitate or pause. She paid no attention to where she was going, or even the beauty of her surroundings - she was on what many would describe as autopilot, her mind going elsewhere, her beaten and exhausted body only able to continue moving due to the fluid that was the gift of adrenaline; if it hadn't been for its electrifying properties, Leah would have fallen out long ago, in fact, she most likely wouldn't have even been standing, at this point in her young life. A roll of her ankle sent her tumbling down into the scraping texture of pavement and asphalt as she struggled in the street, fighting her way back up to her feet in time to almost get hit by an oncoming car, a reflexive flinch and almost murmured whimper escaping her as she braced for impact, throwing her arms up over her face and hunkering as her tail tucked, though she was lucky - seeing the tragic incidence that was her fall, the driver nimbly swerved, all the while honking the horn in an angry manner, even going so far as to flip the petrified girl the bird as he sped past, leaving her standing and blinking in the middle of the street for all of two seconds before she was on the move again, sending her form into overdrive as she raced across the street and onto the relative safety of the sister side. The all too skinny structure that was her abdomen and rib cage sent a sharp stab of pain through the failing surface that was her body, warning Leah of a hitch, while the dagger marking upon her wrist pulsed with an agonizing burst of pain. Doubling over, she cried out, leaning up against the wall as she raised the throbbing limb to her mouth, wrapping her jaws about its surface as she bit down ever so slightly, trying to quench her cries, afraid of the possibility of the noise she was making giving her away - she couldn't afford to be caught, not yet, not now, not like this or in such condition. If her suitor got his hands on her when Leah was like this....well, she had the sinking feeling she wouldn't even make it throug the night. Lifting her head up, blinking back tears as she glared around the alleyway she now found herself in (how had she even got here?) Leah trembled, unsure of where to go or what to do, revealing for the first time in a long time the terrified teenager of a girl she really was beneath the tough exterior, the thick shell she had erected to keep others out and her emotions in, to hide herself from the world and the possibilities of help, the chances of betrayal, as bitter and piercing as it may have been. Leaning back so that one of her shoulder blades was against the unyielding brick, Leah resisted the urge to sink down and collapse in a sniveling heap right then and there, attempting to force her sluggish mind into overdrive and scramble to figure a way out of this, though even she had to admit, she couldn't keep pushing. Not like this. It was only a matter of time now, and she knew, the remanants of the vision she'd been given haunting the recesses of her mind, floating to the surface, distracting her from her thoughts, causing her heart to thump in another beat of terror. She could only imagine why she had heard her screams in the first flash, could only fathom the horrific ending she was no doubt going to be doled out by fate, though she puzzled over why she had been shown a scene regarding Welkin, the powerful young male splayed out in the throes of death, her perception of him clear even then, so strong it was almost as if she were there herself, seeing the visage through the eyes of another person, the woman who would be there with him when it happened, who would remain by his side when life failed and his body died, though Leah was unsure if he would come back; after all, she didn't know how many lives he had left or how many times he had already died. How much more often he could pass from this world and come back relatively unscathed or how many more times he would return to life unharmed. Now was not the moment for its consideration however, a fact she fiercely reminded herself of as she shook her head and prepared to move again, the nagging pain in her side easing up at last, only to startle a moment later, another shrill scream emanating from her lips as she whirled in response to the heavy hand falling upon to slender surface that was her shoulder, lashing out with a snarling backlash, though her hand was caught and her dorsal tumble onto the ground from the loss of balance was halted and she paused middescent, her other hand coming up to grip the other at the wrist, hoping to pry the cold fingers from her limb and wrench herself free before she could be immoblized completely, or even rendered remotely helpless. "Let go of me, you foul...!" Her voice was angry, though it trembled in fear, her tail, once so boldly raised, was now tucked timidly between her legs, her ears flat and her form shaking, trembling in the most violent of ways, even as she struggled, fighting feebly for her freedom, the chance to be out in the open again and on the run before the two of them could hurt her further or toss her lean figure into the yawning abyss that was the back of a van.

Welkin had been the one to grab her shoulder in an attempt to turn her to talk to him and was taken by surprise at her desperate attempt to free herself so much that it ended up with them toppleing over. "Relax relax its Me, Welkin, The guy from back in the bar fight who took a bullet for you." He had hoped seeing his face, his brown hair and soft brown eyes would give Leah at least an ounce of releif that it wasnt one of her chasers. Welkin sounded conserned as he spoke and gently helped Leah to her feet letting her lean on him and the wall to catch her breath. They wouldnt check down here they couldnt.. "Please.. tell me what is going on.. Who were those two? And what do they want from you?" He asks as He knelt down so Leah could look down at him rather than keep looking up. He found talking to people like this also tended to help relax them. Atleast slightly if anything. Welkins ears were perked up waiting for her responce, He turned to check behind him and saw no one so far. Would she tell him? Perhaps give him the short version seeing as her chaseres were still near.. but not right on her,, atleast not yet. Leah could also notice welkin was again bleeding. He had reopened his bullet wound from running and he hadnt even noticed his bandages were stained red with fresh blood. He seemed to actually worry about someone other than himself. Perhaps that was suspicous for Leah, but he did show her twice so far he was trying to help her

Leah continued to struggle, cursing him as they fell, brutally lashing out as best she was able, though she ended up pinned beneath him at one point, in which her body went entirely rigid, her muscles so tense that it was unclear if she were even breathing, and her voice, when she spoke, was strained, though no more than a mere whisper, a snarl edging at her pretty young maw while she closed her eyes, squeezing the lids shut in a desperate attempt to block out extra stimuli and stop the world from spinning - if she were to get through this, she had to be able to see straight and think at least somewhat clearly. "Get. off. of. me." Her voice, though powerful in its commanding inflection, trembled at the edges, wavering in the slightest of nuances, leading one to wonder just how many different ways she'd been abused or mistreated, as she displayed many signs of such. The way in which she avoided people, the method by which she shied away from contact, or flinched at the implication of a particularly loud sound. The startled way in which she had reacted to his touch, the violent way in which she had fought. The way she trembled and shook at the prospect of any close touch, any form of contact, however kind or mundane it might have seemed in form. When he complied, even going so far as to haul her too her unsteady feet, she blinked, looking at him, then backed away, pulling her hands away from his, crossing them in front of her abdomen and moving into a crouch, pressing her back up and into a trash can behind her, a large dumpster no doubt used by the restuarant that now lurked or lingered - Leah wasn't really quite sure which - by their sides. She took in his eyes, the soft features of his face, the gentle gleam within his visage, and it puzzled her. No one had ever been nice ot her. None had ever gifted her with the gentleness of touch, or a nice word, much less the embracing warmth of a hug or reassurance. It was...new and different. Downright odd, even, for someone to display this much interest in her without the motivation provided by most individuals, and it gave Leah pause, had her speechless for a few minutes while she merely stared at him blankly and shivered, blinking once he returned the subject to the matter at hand and glanced over her shoulder, flinching at the crack of a bug meeting its end in the fiery warmth of a zapper, jumping sky high at the aching crackling noise it made, lips curling once again to display her teeth, the movement revealing to Welkin just how thin and skinny she really was - he could easily see the outline of her collarbone through the protection of her hoodie when she moved like that, and it was a far clearer outline than it should have been. In fact, nearly the entire end of the bone was demonstrated, when on a normal person, it would not have even been half of that. Returning her gaze back to Welkin once she realized what it was and there was no danger, she flicked her ears and shrank back once more, going back to her original position as she withdrew further, as if retreating into the thickening protection of her shell, thin voice whispering, "Why in the hell would you want to know? It's not like you're going to do anything about it. No one ever does. No one ever cares. Why should you?" The statement was the longest anyone had ever gotten from her within the past two years, and that included her earlier time with Nick, as she had kept her sentiments short, simple, and to the point. Never any excess information. Never any clues or hints as the mystery of her past, or the agonizing pain of her circumstances. Nothing to indicate where she came from or why she was here, how she had come to be in such a sorry state and in such an unhealthy manner, or to even give a clue as to why she was how she was. Until now. That particular little outburst had just revealed more than she probably realized or had ever meant to tell, but she couldn't quite help it - this male threw her off guard and made her feel edgy, he was one of the few she couldn't figure out. Here he was bleeding again after he'd already been gracious enough to take a bullet for her. But why? He didn't know her. It wasn't like she'd asked him to in the first place. So why? What was this mysterious behavior and what the flip did it mean?

Welkin frowned slightly at her responce and spoke back his voice clear and honest. "I am going to do something about it, I do care, I fight for those who can no longer fight. And i can see.. you would rather die than go back with whoever those men are.. You have been running for so long you just cant run anymore.. your on empty... and broken down.. I want to help because You need help. Because I wont just turn my head and look away... Even if it means getting killed or hurt i still do it because its who i am.. its how i was raised..." Welkin knew Leah must have thought he was a fool for helping her.. But it was how he raised.. How he was tought and it was the right thing to do to him. He looked back seeing someone approaching from the end of the ally way and he put himself between Leah and whoever it was... "Is this one of them?" He asks her

Leah fell silent, staring at him in utter bewilderment as her brow furrowed, obviously confused by his reaction and the fact he'd been willing to risk such for her, ears flicking partially up even as her arms curled more securely about herself, holding her shivering form in place as best she could, unsure of how to respond, or what to make of this uncharacteristic behavior. Perhaps he wanted something from her? Like what? She asked herself, it wasn't as if she had anything to give. Nothing but her own self, and Leah had vowed long ago that no one was ever going to touch her in such a manner again. No one was ever going to corner and abuse her for the rest of her life, she'd make sure of it, or she'd die trying. As Welkin had claimed, she was running on fumes, and she was on her last legs. She was too skinny, her weight was dropping. She was losing sleep either from constantly looking over her shoulder or from the constant drag of the visions, sometimes both, and whenever she was forced into doing a job, in those all too common instances in which she was forced to employ her density shift, she drained even more of her precious energy, but it didn't mean she was going down without a fight, nor did it mean she was going to just lie down and die. She may have had all her lives left still yet, miraculously, to be honest, she wasn't even sure how that had even happened, but she'd be damned if she were going back there to her "home" ever again. She had opened her mouth to scorch him with a blistering reply when he moved, turning his head to spy the person before planting his larger form squarely in front of her own, shrinking back even further into the recesses of the alleyway, peering out from behind his shoulder almost timidly, like a small child peeking from behind the safety of a mother's leg, ears flicking forward as her nose twitched, going back to business, as usual. What was important now was that she get out, that she get away, and get herself away from this place, far, far away from this place, as she couldn't stand the thought of being apprehended or captured. Not again. Not after last time. This time, she knew, that if she did go back, she wouldn't live to see the morrow, and would most likely never witness the beauty of a sunrise ever again, no matter how tenacious she might have been, no matter how tough and how stubbornly she clung to both existence and life, though Leah had to admit, sometimes she wondered why she even did so herself. Focusing on the approaching shape, she held her breath, listening, and listening hard, only daring to permit her lungs to move long enough to gather his scent, analyzing it thoroughly before breathing a sight of relief and slumping back, nestling herself against the alley wall, though she knew she couldn't stay here long, she was probably already beginning to push it with her time limits. "No, that's not him." She murmured softly, quietly, quite visably relieved. Until a disembodied voice floated down a few octaves overhead, the tone a mocking one full of triumph and the rather unpleasant stench of her father, something Welkin could have deduced had he actually taken a moment to examine both odors and smells. And he wasn't alone - he'd brought Leah's fabled suitor, the male whom he'd sold her too before she was old enough to wed, then forced into marriage before she was ready, though the girl had little choice in the matter, despite how hard she may have fought, despite how fiercely she would have struggled. "No, I'm afraid that's not me. How can it be? Especially when he's down there and I'm up here?" Leah's head jerked up to regard the outline of her sire's shadow against the failing daylight, the female twisting around and unwittingly bumping back into Welkin, blinding seeking something to clutch in her hand in a desperate act of comfort, somehow managing to nab Welkin's own hand, though the blue haired fae didn't even notice it, not at the moment, not at that time. All she could do was stare wordless up at her father, the horror of her dreams, the epitome of her nightmares. The pinnacle of her hellish dreams. Only one word escaped her whispered lips, ears going flat against her head as her heart hammered frantically in her chest during a panic, breath catching her throat for a mere second before it hitched, threatening to send her into a hyperventilating fit - it had been so long since she'd seen him, so long since she had come face to face with the embodiment of her diabolical past and the evil that was her own personal hell, of which it seemed fate had determined her stay had been extended. That one word she murmured, however, would have chilled the very blood within Welkin's veins, then no doubt sent a pulsing pound of fury though the epitome and very core of his being, for that word implied all the trust in the world, all the information he would have needed for the moment, so that he might peice together all those separate little clues. The way she carried herself, the fear. The paranoia, the distrust of men. The frantic way in which she had torn through both the club and bar in order to escape, the implications of that one word revealing almost all, but not quite every bit. "Daddy...."

"Run and don't look back! Go! Welkin ordered her refuseing to let her get caught. As she ran she heard fighting and gunshots... would she worry for Welkin? Would she read his note? It had simple instructions. North woods oak tree cluster gallia tree 7225.. henwanted her to go north and look for a tree with the word scratched on it but the code was still stumping her. She knew the likelyhood Welkin would live was slim. He had sacrificed himself. Boosting her to freedom enraging her father and suitor and even fighting them to buy her time.

Leah's dark eyes glanced at him when he both moved in front of her and when he spoke, ears flicking forward ever so briefly to permit her wondorous brain to catch the words, hands clenching into tight fists by her sides, attempting to calm herself and quell her panic, for she was not alone - though she was not a trusting person, she'd never really opened herself up to another being during the entirety of her young life, Leah figured Welkin wasn't just going to back down, something clearly evidenced by the manner in which he abruptly turned, hoisting her up into his arms before she could protest, before she could retaliate or refuse his proposal in a vain attempt to offer up her own, yelping in surprise as she tumbled over the wall and into the graveyard, rolling a few feet as she came to a stop, popping back up almost as quickly as she had gone down, cursing in a very colorful spurt of language as she regianed her feet, spitting the vile words out with nary a second thought, a snarl leaving her lips as she backed away, hands out by her sides now at her hip level, tail up in a dreaded sense of unease, eyes glancing about as she took in her new surroundings, the place she'd been so unceremoniously dumped and expected to run, a trait that was normally not in her blood - in most cases, Leah preferred to stand and fight, often to within an inch of her life, even if some part of her both recognized and knew she had already done this, that she had already undergone as much as she possibly could during the circumstances. She could not hope to win against her father alone, much less when he had brought her suitor to pant along loyally by his side, nor could she possibly hope to outrun them for any longer, not after they had just caught up to her. She was fully aware of the fact that one way or another, in some preordained method and manner, that this would be the end of it, that this day would most likely, in all previous situations, have been her last. If not for Welkin. If not for the soldier male stepping in unbidden, inserting himself in a happening that did not concern him, even if Leah had to admit, at least privately and to herself, that she was glad he had - if not for his interference, she most likely would have been dead by now or close to it, suffering in a rather pitiful state with a pitieous whimpering whine as she died, somehow begging for a forgivness she knew she would never get, much less have any vague or slight hope of receiving. And so, while she would gladly have leapt back over that wall and thrust herself into the meelee with little to no hesitation, she understood that she could not - even when she was in the best of shape she could not have scaled that wall upon her own. It was too high, too steep, and crafted with a distinct lack of handholds to prevent just such a circumstance, nor could she readily and easily jump it - she couldn't quite reach that high. And so, with a dejected shake of her head, a trembling snarl emantaing from her lips, she tucked her hands into her pockets, shivering as she accepted that for the time being, she was stuck here; she could only hope Welkin would make it out of this alive so she could later properly thank him - most certainly with a stinging wallop across the face or perhaps even registering along the back of the head, her nose curling in a snarl as she jumped and whirled, the sound of a twig snapping beneath another's feet echoing loudly within the faint night air, sending a shuddering chill down her spine even while she crouched, fingers clasping the small slip of paper even as she pulled it out, black eyes blinking as she scanned the address and figured out the key specifics of what it wanted her to do. Though the creature she'd heard was a mere animal roaming idly by in the midst of the graveyard, as evidenced by its brief appearance later, with a curious glance at the young female as if to ask why she was suddenly so tense or high strung, Leah could not help but be...what was the word? Ah, yes. Perturbed. In fact, if she'd been in her wolf form, she likely would have had her hackles raised, ears flat, and lips curled to reveal the gleaming rows that were her fangs and teeth, the thick yet dense coat that often so purposely served her hiking upwards in a threatening attempt, as failed as it was, to make her appear both larger and more dangerous, though not many people, if any, took it even remotely seriously. With a huff and a glance, Leah changed to her animal form with the remaining resevoirs of her strength, shaking out her dense coat in an effort to flatten it and relax her body as much as possible, under the circumstances, jumping sky high at the sound of gunshots, the mangled cries of a yelp and a yell, her body hunkering close to the earth for a heartbeat or two before shooting off like a streak of lightning, racing through the dark so swiftly she was no more than a multitoned black and white blur, her paws soundless save for the occasional thump of their impact while she moved, body stretching out and tail curving up along her spine, tongue moving to hang limply from her jaws while she panted, blinking now turqoise eyes in remorse at having left Welkin behind, though she could not fathom why - after all, it had been his choice to make, and he had made it, fully aware of the fact he most likely wasn't going to win, and would like as not not survive to see the day, the dawn of a beauty upon the horizon. Still, she could not help but reserve a pinprick of sorrow.

Fang shivered and pulled her shirt tighter around her, the small vampire was hungry and cold but had nowhere to go. She walked the street looking for some shelter and maybe a rat or pigeon.

Matt drove to the apartments and came to a stop outside one of the stores. He took a breath and figured that he should pick up the stuff that Alex needed as well... well What Alex needed for Nick but he firgured she needed stuff too. He pulled in and got out of the car before heading onto the street. He glanced around the area and wondering which store does Alex go to most often.

Fang noticed the man and crouched, the scent of wolf filling her nose. She swallowed her nerves and crept closer, trying to stay low to the ground. Was it a stupid move? yeah but Fang was hungry and at this point a meal was a meal.

Matt glanced around the place and sighed. He rubbed his head some and glanced down at his phone. He then turned around. He didn't even think how he smelled like wolven... having carried a knocked out wolven, Thrown by that girls father by some invisable force and finally the cop as well. He sighed and leaned against the door for a moment. He still felt sore from getting thrown. He headed towards one of the drug stores. He left the car door unlocked.

Clever little street urchin that she was, Fang crawled into the back of the car, both as shelter but also as a means of planning her attack. She was trying to think of the easiest way to drink the "wolven"'s blood without then getting caught and/or thrown from the car later.

Matt went in and got a few things. He also got Nick's refills he needed. He came out with a couple bags of stuff. He then headed towards the car and blinked for a second. He opened his mind to the surrounding area and mostly for thoughts of people near the car. He was trying to pick up any thoughts of danger near by.

yeah properly XD] Matt frowned picking up the sound of a child in the car. He blinked finding out that it was vampire by the sound of it. He knew she was hungry and cold and blinked slowly. He glanced around for a moment and stepped away. He closed his eyes and waited for a second. He knew just getting into the car alone was not a smart idea... He didn't like the idea of turning... and going through that pain.... But he wasn't about to leave the child without help. He saw something out of the corner of his eye. He smirked and put the stuff in the car quickly before heading off for a moment. He disappeared for a second before picking up some nice sized small animals from a pet store that he wouldn't consider pets. He considered cats and dogs as pets.. not things like rats and such. So he got some of animals that werent cute and cuddly but would be a good meal for a small little vampire.. He headed back towards the car and got in. He set the box of animals on the middle councial before backing out. He wouldn't come out speaking to her at the moment. He waited and when he knew no one was watching he sighed" you can come out kid... I know your hiding back there "he said softly.

Fang winced when he addressed her. She briefly considered staying put, after all she wasnt a threat to a full grown man. She sniffed and cautiously poked her head around the seat. "How find?" she half demanded of him, her face set in a frown.

Matt glanced back for a moment before looking back at the road" My gift is that of Telapath.. I heard your thoughts as I came close to the car... hungry? I can't really offer my own blood at the moment but I can when we get to my friends place. She has some stuff that can get some blood out of me with out biting.. but these little guys should help tie you over till then "he said tapping the box in the middle.

"Fang eat rat?" she pointed to the box, listening and getting a basic comprehension of what he said. "no bite?" Her curiosity was getting the better of her and she was becoming confused. "How eat if no bite?"
