Site Owner Posts: 550 | Anala caught the change in his tone of voice, though she did not look back at him, merely pushed on in the swirling storm that was the blizzard. Shivering, she pulled upon her fire powers, sending a blazing spark of heat through the air, warming the area around her so it kept the bitter ice at bay and offered Kaz some protection as well, though even she had to admit, it wasnt much. She did not dare to summon flames though - to do so would melt the snow beneath them, and that could lead to the danger of an avalanche. She snarled as he placed his hand on her, whipping about as he had planned, her tail rising as she snapped at him, a reflex she had developed while in the midst of that awful pack. A small reaction yes, but one that told Kaz she had indeed been abused to some extent. Her fur ruffled, bristling about her shoulders and raising her ruff, her teeth gleaming in the night. With a soft snort as she turned back around, Anala began in her way again, determined to make it back to the cabin. "Those males will revive within a few hours at most, if were lucky. They might already be up and about but I doubt we shall have to worry about them again tonight. They'll be too weak to do much more than find their own shelter. Besided, the pack will keep coming back. Ill not put my family through that. It is better this way."

"Anala..." Kaz insisted... his ears flattening under his helmet "You and Anja can be safe at volcano... Ill do the dirty work... make sure they dont come back... its somethign ive been trained to do in the past... What would the alpha of Volcano think... or Anja think if they found out you sacrificed yourself to keep her safe... Greed is a horrible thing... whats stopping them from beating you down and getting you weak and complacent then storming volcano and taking Anja too?" Kaz asks his point rather an unexpected one. One Anala may have not been prepared for.. It was entierly possible that copuld happen... Anja getting snatched from volcano to join her mother in misery "Listen to me... Please dont do this to yourself... Not when there is another way..."

Site Owner Posts: 550 | "My son is the Alpha of Volcano; he and his mate are known as the Demon Alphas. This pack will think twice before taking them on. Besides that, they know should they come after Anja once I return, I myself will end them and set their homes ablaze in the flames of my ire. They are careful with me for that reason. Besides, the deal is done, Kaz. You would do well to let it go, and not a word to Snow or Anja." She warned, glancing back at him one last time just before they reached the cabin.

"Damnit... fine.." Kaz grumbled rather unhappily... "This goes against everything i was taught growing up though... Your rather lucky if i dont stalk you to their hideout and do it myself..." He sighs as they walked inside and instantly began to shed his now cold armor. Neatly packing it away quietly so he didnt wake the others inside... "Thank you... For coming to get me though Anala." He again thanked her.. Standing up again and yet again stetting his bags down on the floor gently.

(Part one) "And in that case, you'll be lucky if I don't notice you and burn you to a shivering crisp," Anala grumbled back, pushing open the door to her abode as they reached the shelter, pushing it closed with a hind paw as he entered and set his things down. She shook out her fur once more, the ice that had layered in it melting almost instantaneously when they entered the blazing heat of the room, and sending droplets spraying everywhere before she went back over to the pups, nosing first the sleeping figure of Anja, who was now snoring in a rather unseemly manner, her jaws open and splayed about on her side and belly, then Snow, who had woken and perked up, no doubt wondering where Anala had went.

(Part two) "Don't mention it. There's blankets up on the second floor. Get your tail over here by the fire and warm up; I'll fetch them." With that, the red and white she-wolf, who, if one had known Rain could have easily mistaken Anala for her mother, seeing as Anala was only a touch larger than her dam, trotted up the stairs, never even bothering to switch her form, seeming at peace for the moment, or at the very least, settled, calmer than she had been earlier. Only a few moments had passed before she returned baring the warming gifts that were so essential for life out here in the cold wilderness, tossing one to Kaz, who had taken a seat in front of the blazing hearth, then covering both Anja and Snow, curling her larger form about the smaller of the two pups once more, offering a heat that might have seemed strange to those who did not know her fire themed ancestry. "You'd best be getting some rest." With a soft sigh, she rested her head on her paws, facing the door herself, so that even in sleep, she might keep an eye out for any signs of trickery or ambush in the darkened blackness of the night.

Kaz wrapped the warm fluffy expanse of the blanket around his large form thankfiul it somehow managed to cover the nearly 7 foot behemoth of a man that Kaz was. "Anala... my offer is still on the table..." He murmers to her as he settled in his back against the wall now as he seemed to prefer that rather uncomfortable position more at the moment. Dispite his constant asking annoying her his idea was atleast noble... perhaps if things were different she might have concidered it.. but sadly that wasnt the case as she undoubitably shot it back down.. but.. now perhaps Kaz had caught her curiosity. Mayby she would end up asking him about his life. it was only proper he divulged some information about himself to her as she had done the same to him a while ago. even if it was a minor pieces to the complicated puzzle

Site Owner Posts: 550 | Anala rolled her luminous summer green eyes at his continued insistance, snarling something under her breath about males and their fickle ideas, fragile beings that would never work. Not in this lifetime at least. "Whats done is done," she replied curtly, flicking an ear as she rested her tapering muzzle against the slender limb of her paws and the snowy white if her legs. Her fur, though not as thick as a mountain wolf's due to her fire themed nature, looked soft and inviting all the same, even with the blood red markings that were her bodys swirling pattern. She did not ask about his past however, and her muscles remained taut, pulled tense. She figured it was none of her business, and besides, she had to stay up, least the demons of her past make it through the storm and return to haunt her. She had to keep watch.

Kaz sighs and settled down for the night.. although.. before the crack of dawn was even upon them.. no more then a few hours later the faint rustle and soft gasp of Kaz waking up could be heard. As if he had woken from a bad dream... He looked around the room and over to Anala who stayed still as she peered out the slightly fogged window into the unknown outside storm...He tried to see if she was awake without moving although could not at this angle... "Anala..?" He asks softly as he got up to walk over to her. "Ill watch for this half now.. get some rest.." He murmers as he traded her the blanket now. It saturated with welcoming warmth and the faint scent of the male who had himself wrapped up in it for the past few hours

Site Owner Posts: 550 | Analas ear twitched at the sound of his gasp, and he caught a glimpse of one green eye as she slightly shifted, adjusting herself into a more comfortable position upon the floor, her weight more evenly distributed, easing some of the pressure off her joints. She huffed when he cane over, softly calling her name as he did so to see if she were up - the rigid, tense posture of the female plainly revealed she was. "Go back to sleep, Kaz. We get an early start in the morning, whether permitting." She didnt ask about his nightmare - she wouldnt pry. Her curiosity was naught, and her tolerance for insistent questions regarding her own history limited, which made her further respectful of anothers boundaries. "Im fine," she growled as he draped the blanket over her, swiveling her ears forward as she ever so faintly lifted her head. "This wont be the first all nighter Ive pulled." Air blew faintly from her nostrils as she rolled her eyes when he ignored her, placing her head back on her legs. Seemed there was no use in telling him something. Like her, he simply wouldnt listen. And so Anala merely put her head down, and proceeded to continue what it was she had been doing: keeping watch. Though it became harder as she was encased in the welcoming warmth of the blanket, and strangley soothed by the masculine scent that was the essence of Kaz, her solid green eyes began to droop, and the rigid expanse of her muscles seemed to relax, a soft sigh leaving her lips as the tension left her body, form at last relaxing. Perhaps Kaz saw this, perhaps he noted it. Perhaps he did not.

"Your going to need your strenght Anala... If that pack is as bad as i perceve it is.." Kaz gently took a seat next to her as she slowly drifted off. The last thing she could see was his rather plain yet handsom face.. and his voice more gentle then she was used to... if she closed her eyes and relaxed it almost felt like her old love was right there with her instead of Kaz..Once she was out Kaz kept watch his nightmare starting to eat away at him... he curled up into himself as he examined his pistol biting his lip before settng it down in his lap with a soft sigh.

Site Owner Posts: 550 | Anala never replied to that statement, as her fight against sleep was lost, the battle she fought so hard so that she might remain up and alert, ready for trouble, surrendered as she sleepily watched Kaz, her eyes already half closed in weariness as the warmth of the blanket and the rushcof his scent surrounded her, reminding the female of a happier time in her life, a period many years ago where she had still been with her mate, the man of all her dreams. She knew not why Kazs scent reminded her of him, or why if she closed her eyes...just for a few moments, she reminded herself, she couldnt sleep, not yet...she could remember the way it was with her and Ice, the male who had first stolen her heart and rendered her useless when it came to all things over him, melting Anala into a warm natured blob that easily bent to his will. Not an easy feat for one to accomplish, not with a wolf such as Anala. Drowsily observing him come away from the window and take a seat beside her, Anala found she was barely awake, and fading fast, the image of his face blurring at the lines and growing fuzzy as she slipped at last into the calming slumber of darkness of slumber, her resistance gone and her will to remain awake nonexistent as he ran a hand through her fur, starting first at her skull and ears before traveling back to her shoulders and stopping just above the edge of the blanket. With that final gesture, Anala was gone, lost to the realm of dreams. As she slept, she relaxed, her slender, muscled body pressing faintly against him at first, then more heavily as she reclined, the intense heat she emitted soothing away at least a portion of his pain.

Kaz looked over at Anala as she slumped over succumbing to her weariness and leaning against him as she slept. He sighs softly not sure why but.. he kept feeling as if.. he had known this female before... Or that it just was his duty to protect her... "Why wont you just let me help damnit.." He murmers to himself closeing his eyes wishing she would just have said yes.... He curled up a bit watching outside wondering just how she would make it... His mind cooking up horrible outcomes for her and her impending life of misery. It made him feel sick to his stomach he wasnt able to even help her... As she had refused all forms of assistance he offered to her and made it clear if he even tried she wouldnt take kindly to it... Part of him wondered how she would react to finding a weapon left in her belongings incase she decided she needed to escape.. they surely would drain her energy useing water to keep her helpless.. He just didnt know... Why was he so confused.. Or.. So worried? The more he thought about it the more it made his head hurt

Snow had retreated back to beside the fire, curling into a tight ball of fur to sleep

Anja woke shortly before dawn, used to rising at this hour out of necessary habit, lifting her head and stretching her jaws in a soft yet quiet yawn before smacking her lips together and gazing around sleepily, not really expected to see anything different or new, when the green orbs, so like her mother's, landed on Kaz. "Kaz!" She yelped in over excited joy, bouncing quickly to her feet and racing over to him, tripping over the tight ball of fur that was Snow, the tiny white pup inadvertantly and inconviently placed in her chosen path, rolling over onto her back and then her belly before she shook herself out and then was leaping at the Dire Blooded male, tackling him to the wooden floor in a glorious heap, excitedly waving the white flag that was her tail, the ice blue markings that colored her own pelt, along with her smaller, more juvenile size, ensuring she was distinguishable from her mother. "You're back! Did mom let you in? That's surprising; she's normally stubborn once she makes up her mind. I'm glad she did though, I missed you, and then there was that storm, and all that snow, and the wind..." Anja continued to ramble on and on, oblivious to the fact that, in addition to sending Snow flying across the floor when she bounded forward, the teen had also trod upon her mother, trampling all over the elder female in her quest to greet her newfound friend, bringing forth a disgruntled huff and irritated grunt from Anala's maw, and even now Anja proceeded to sit upon her back and shoulders, as if she still did not realize the fiery presence that was her mother was, indeed, there. Anala, opening bleary eyes in a blink, sighed, wondering where she had gone wrong in raising her air head of a daughter, and winced as she felt the sharp poke and prod of the excited teen's paws, lifting her head when Anja proceeded to use her as a bench, clearing her throat pointedly as she turned her own green eyes back on the white and blue child that was her daughter, wondering how on earth she and Kaz had gotten so close during the journey of the night. She didn't remember going to sleep so close to him. However, before she could say anything, the presence of another flickered to life in her mind, and Anala turned her head towards the window and door, pricking her ears as she listened, tensing as she remembered what was going on, and that today was the day for the exchange of events. She could sense the two males outside, now that the storm was gone and their lives regained, their essence restored to their bodies, patiently waiting her return. They knew she would not back out of a bargain. Which meant....Anala briskly stood, unceremoniously tumbling Anja to the floor as the pup went flying from her paws, landing in a heap beside her mother's rising body, her sharp voice cutting through the air in a rather testy tone, and a sentiment that brooked no argument. "It's dawn, time to get moving. Anja, Snow, get ready, because in five minutes we'll be on our way." The red and white female glanced at Kaz for a moment, looking him in the eye as she did, wondering if he would protest, knowing he would understand what this was about, and warning him not to dare breath a word.

the pup yelped and snarled at Anja when she was rolled, but was stopped in her assault when Anala spoke. She shook and stretched, ready to go. Snow was completely fine leaving this place behind.

Kaz couldnt help but chuckle then whince for snow and anala as they were trampled. he scratched at her neck as she happily pawed at his chest. "She let me in.. Your mom isnt heartless after all Anja" He smiled before hearing Anala's commanding voice and for once surpriseingly. Kaz yeilded to her.. perhaps it was only because of Anja's precense but perhaps there was more meaning behind it. He was packed up in no time at all and was heading out the door with the other three wolven deciding to walk along side Anala for the trip "So where ar we heading again?" Kaz asks looking down at her and Anja who was still bounceing around like a hyperactive snowball. Kaz did notice they were on their decent out of the mountains now.. He did wanna talk more about this "plan" of theirs but didnt.. not infront of Anja atleast.. not now.. byt the male had no idea that anala would soon part ways once they were close enough to make it to the volcano pack... or atleast in the general area and her time ran out...

Anja writhed and wiggled about him, bouncing on her toes and yapping incesstantly, only tumbling to the floor once her mother stood, where she ended up with her tail over her head once more, though she rolled right back to her feet and bounded up in record time with a perky, "Okay!" She turned towards Snow, lunging towards the pup in a playful bow, though she stopped short, not wanting to trample over her again, as her mother strode to the door and window, looking out at the vast white sea of snow that the blizzard had brought, her senses on high alert, judging by the insistent rise of her hackles. "Come on, Snow!" Anja barked, waving her tail, "It's time to go!" Darting around the little pup, she playfully nudged and nipped at her heels before scooting back with a laugh as the younger child snapped at her, jumping over the tiny white form to race once more to Kaz as he opened the door, charging out of the vacant surface and plunging headlong into the depths of the snowy drifts below, disappearing entirely for a moment before popping back up, snow lingering on her head and nose, a sneeze and shake of her head sending it flying. "Come on guys! What are you waiting for? The weather's fine, let's get moving!" With that, Anja was up and on the thick banks of the stuff, wobbling as her paws sank in varying depths into the cold white surface, clearly enjoying this turn of events. With a soft sigh, Anala shook her head, looking back at Snow as she waited for the pup to come over. "Are you alright? Need me to carry you? You can climb on my back." In all honesty, seeing the hyperactive fluffball that was Anja, one had had to wonder how Anala had kept even a shred of her sanity, and even Anala herself sometimes pondered this.

Kaz stayed by Anala unsure if Snow had gotten hurt from Anja's trampleing as he wasnt looking. Although he did seem concerned for the small pup. Carrying his large bags as they finnaly got on their way down the mountain Anala and anja could sense an air of worry aroung him. Like he knew something was wrong but wouldnt say what it was... his black hair and outfit contrasting greatly with the pure white powdery snow that was covering the ground in the mountains.. He nudged Anala gently and suddenly to get her attentuon and whispers "To our 9... in the trees.... You see them...?" He asks as they walked making it seem as if he was just speakign quietly to her "Shall i take another of their lives?" He asks his tone quiet soft.. yet ready and willng to go to war for her again..."Its not too latr still you know... we can finish them off... not let the pack get you or anja..
