The pond out back, on the edge of the Abandoned Farm, given its name due to its history. A young girl, a child of the farmer's family is said to have fallen in one night, her life lost to the sulking black waters. A slight negative presence surrounds the place.

There was a soft but exuberant humming as a young female wolf, a teenager really, waltzed in, prancing merrily in tune with whatever song it was she happened to be quietly singing, seeming unfazed by the creepy surroundings that had gradually begun to change from the soft and blinding snow of the brilliant mountains to the warmer, melted regions of the lower facilities, trading snow for grass, and boulder for trees. Her step was light and carefree, even though a pup was swinging from her mouth, her grip just as tight and firm as it had been when she picked the orphan child up, a little one whose name just so happened to mirror that pure coloring of her pelt and blended so easily with the realm of the mountains: Snow. It was an undeniable truth that Snow would be quite tired of Anja's humming at this point, and be quite sick of this journey, as it was obvious to the younger pup that they were clearly lost, though Anja herself didn't seem to think so. According to her, she knew exactly where they were going, even if she hadn't seen this particular area even in her life, and in part, that was due to the fact that she had her eyes closed. The vibrant green that was their merry, twinkling depths, were shielded by the soft white of her eyelids, her own white and blue coloring standing out against the darker surroundings, something that could have made her a major target, had she even paused to consider such, and her positive energy, which seemed to leak from the very pores of her being, clashed violently with the negative aura that surrounded the place, not that the oblivious Anja even paused to stop and consider it. No, it would be Snow who brought all this to the girl's attention first...for about the twentith time within the past fifteen minutes, a demonstration to just how blissful and carefree, how oblivious, Anja herself seemed to be.

"You have no idea where we are do you?" Snow groaned, covering her ears with her paws to try to muffle the sounds of Anja's singing. They'd been walking for what felt like hours and all the older pup could think to do was draw attention to the pair of them through her incessant bubbly noise.

Pausing in midstride, one paw poised and ready, as if she had fully intended to step down with it once more, Anja fell abruptly silent at Snow's question, for the first time in many minutes opening her eyes and flicking her ears up, her body tensed as if in position to take off running at the slighest notion or hint of danger - she couldn't very well sit here and attempt to fight something if it came out on them, not when she was still so untrained and raw in both her elements and powers. Unless it was an animal. Then perhaps she could try to possess it, see if her earlier experiement would be a continued success....though that probably wouldn't have been the best of times to try it out once again. "Uhm...." She responded to Snow's question, looking about at their surroundings as if seeing them for the first time before plowing on with an absurdly chipper, "Nope, not a clue," before she went back to her previous activities, prancing along the path she had chosen just as merrily as she had before, without a care or even a minor thought as to what was going on around her, tail flickering as if in tune with some dance she knew in her head - and that looked gorgeous in her mind's eye, though it was anything but in reality - the tune she had been humming come back into play with a vengeance, almost as if she could sense that though Snow did not like it, she was going to do it anyway, and was hoping it would, somehow, cheer her up and lift her spirits, though in fact, it was probably really just doing the exact opposite.

Snow groaned and began wriggling "put me down!" She snapped, "you can go attract all the predators you want after you PUT. ME. DOWN." The white pup struggled harder to breakaway

"Nope," Anja cheerfully replied, merely proceeding to tighten her grip, somehow managing to, at the same time now, mind you, continue to Snow, "Therwfhe arthwen't any predfators arounphnd fhere anyway." She knew because there was still the scent of human, though it was faint, and then there was the presence. The ominous, lurking presence that seemed to grow stronger, and more oppresive, with each and every passing beat of the heart, causing even the cheerful perk that was Anja to halt once more and give pause, opening her eyes a bit wider as she gazed about her surroundings, ears going back slightly as her spine tingled, the fur along it rising, tail, which had been up and waving, cresting down to her flanks, curling up and under her as she resisted the urge to tuck it, lowering her larger body closer to the ground in a crouch, head twisting about as she took in a deep breath through her nose, attempting to scent something, but of course, all she could smell was Snow. And death. Acrid, sharp death, and something long since rotten, no longer alive and functioning, not able to maintain or sustain the daily functions of bodily life....and it was then that Anja began to truly be afraid, for the first time in her life experiencing what was known as apprehension, her muffled voice whispering almost inaudibly - and nearly unintelligiably - "Dwo youh fwheel twhat?" It wasn't mortal, whatever it was, it was far to angry and otherworldly for that, though, of course, the sheltered Anja had never had any encounters with ghosts, and so of course, would not recognize or relate to the presence or chilling feel of one.

Unfotunately, Snow did feel something, she felt like something bad was coming and she wanted nothing to do with it. She yelped when Anja's grip became tight. "Not so hard!" She yipped at her.

"S-s-sorry," she whimpered in reply, backing carefully away from the suddenly ominous presence that had so quickly appeared. She, too, wanted nothing to do with it, and could not bring herself to understand how it came here - after all, the coast had been clear a mere moment ago, and the had been no sign of this paranormal presence. Anja wanted to run, to race away in an entirely different direction where it was nicer....and a lot, lot safer.

"If you're going to just stand there the least you can do is let me go so I can get out of here!" Snow was bristling in her fear. She wanted to run.

"I'm going, I'm going!" Was the surprisingly tart yet fearful reply Anja gave to the child, twistung her body around into another direction - she wasnt sure which it was, she only knew it was away from the ghost and that it was safer than where they happened to be now. The pace was quick and her footsteps light as she took off, plunging through the underbrush and growth at a dead run, muscles bunching repeatedly beneath the thick white layer of her coat, the ice toned markings along her figure blurring with her movement. The smell of fear was strong in the air, thick as syrup, and heavy in the ghoul's cloying presence.

Snow yelped and curled into a tighter ball, for once allowing her fear to take over and actually act like a scared pup.

The strange noises continue for some time after the youngsters left. their source being an older wolven, grumbling about kids being on her lawn

A yawn could be heard faintly as Remington, an older male by Wolven standards, lifted the sleek structure of his lupine head, the hard edges of his skull sharply outlined in the thick black coating that was his fur, the white of his fangs gleaming in the darkness. His blind blue eyes, orbs the color of ice despite their lack of sight, had faded pupils, the round spheres a dull gray instead of the usual midnight saturation. His ears, long and pointed like a bat's, flicked up and forward, and he smirked, stretched out as he was across his tree limb, high off the ground - ususual for a wolf, yes, by all means - one paw in front of him, the other forelimb dangling down from the edge of the thick bough consisting of his chosen limb. The scruffy portion that was his tail followed suit, flicking ever so slightly in the darkness of the surrounding terrain, and the unusually thick ruff about his neck ruffled as he grinned, sitting up only partially, remaining splayed out over his belly while he turned his head in Reaper's direction. Moths were flickering about even though it was only early evening and there were no light sources to be had nearby, and one landed upon Reaper's slender ear, fanning its wings as it waved the tiny structures that were its antenna, directing the elder male's head in Reaper's direction where his blind blue eyes stared uncannily, as if even though he had no sight, he could see right through to the aged female's shattered soul. "Nice going there, Princess. Terrify the sprouts into not coming back and strengthening your reputation so that their parents will come to wipe you from the face of existence. It's totally what I would do, if I wanted to keep a low profile. Exactly the course of action I would have taken." The grin that split his jaws was rather creepy, revealing the startling white of his teeth and effectively giving away his position, and his ears flicked first forward, then halfway back as he cocked his head, the nonexistent form that was his stare never leaving the shadowed shape that his moths told him were there, and that he could vaguely make out now that he actually used and relied upon his echolocation.

Reaper snarled and turned to face the blind male. "And what are you doing here then?" She snapped flatly, ears laying back as she sat, tail curling over her paws. "Horrid little creatures anyway." the black furred female wasn't in the mood for dealing with another wolf in what she had made into her home. "What are you doing up there anyway?"

"Who, little ol' me?" Remington drawled, chuckling as he relaxed along the length of his branch, still keeping his sightless gaze in her direction, the moth that had been upon her ear alighting for a split second before landing lightly on the dense fur of her head. Its master, the blind bounty hunter known as Remington, rested his jaw along the delicate stretch of his foreleg, as inky black as the rest of him, though he was now at an age where some gray and silver had started to come in, breaking up the otherwise harsh coloration with a bit of relief for the sightful eye, that grin remaining in place as he flicked an ear forward, catching the faint echoes of what Remi often his pets, the moths that told him of his surroundings, that communicated his positioning and that of others, or told him of what was to come or what he should possibly expect. His teeth, now that she looked closer, weren't exactly in line, it looked as if he were missing a few as they were crooked and a couple of gaps here and there along their length, though miraculously, none were chipped. His form, what she could see of it, was long, lanky and lean, the figure of a hunter and not a fighter, though he could perform either chore with the relative ease one like him was born with, and his ears were long and pointed, almost unnaturally so. There were hard ridges of cartilage in the abnormally shaped instruments, almost like a bat's, and they were a gentle, soft pink if one observed closely. His nose trembled with the scents on the breeze, and he returned rather boredly, "I'm just catching up on a bit of my beauty sleep while I can. It's hard on an old wolf like me, running around all day without even a brief rest." A muscle around the back of his shoulder twitched as if in testament to this, shaking his head rather sadly with an added, "You, Princess, just wouldn't have any idea." The comment concerning the pups and what terrible little creatins they were had him chuckling softly, his dry voice rolling, "Horrid, indeed." He could sense her ire even if he couldn't directly see it - though his echolocation gave him knowledge of his surroundings, who was near him, and the various locations of other things, Remington was unable to see or read her body language, all he had to go by was the sudden tense thrum of power in the air, and he replied rather boredly, "The ground is hard and the earth littered with predators who would take an old thing like me in a heartbeat. This tree is much more comfortable, and I should think, a quite deal safer, even if it only deters all but the most determined of predators. And yourself, Princess? What's a pretty little thing like you doing all out here by your lonesome?"

She snorted, her irritation growing every time he used the word 'princess' her lip curling into a snarl. "I'd hate to think any creature would dare be so foolish." Had he been able to see her, he would have seen that her fur was fluffy but sleek and shiny, her eyes, a deep blue. She looked up at him and flickered an ear, attempting to dislodge the pesky moth. "This is my home." She rolled her eyes, standing and stretching, giving a slight bored yawn, before stalking toward the older male. "What brings you all the way out here worm bait?"

He laughed then, the sound dry and crackling, like the crunching of dead leaves underfoot, tossing his head back and snorting in his mirth. Shaking his sleek skull, he flicked his tail, hearing the soft rustle of her paw steps, his ears flickering forward to pin her movements, and give him her exact location as she advanced. Where her coat was thing and sleek, shining with a gentle fluff, his was thick and scruffy, with no real sense of grooming, cut here and there by a scar or two, freckled with a stray streak of silver or even white. It looked like a nightmare for the midst of summer, and as if to prove this point correct, Remington promptly flopped out his tongue and began to softly pant, finding he was even now overheating, and he had only just awakened. He grumbled as he adjusted his position about summer and the pexky heat, even as his moth continued to irritate Reaper, flipping about her head and dancing first in front of her eyes and then her nose before flickering off to land squarely between her shoulders, most likely further annoying the female. Stretching as he sat up too, Remington turned his attention back to the fae, once again locating her with seemingly little effort, his ears pricking up and sifting forward. Where his jaws were open, he could utter a soft echo that was beyond the realm of her hearing, and gathered only by the moths, without so much as a huff. "Oh nothing much, Princess. Just a little job my employers would like kept discreet."

"Dont call me that!" She snapped, taking note of his physical state, "Maybe you should cool off." She smirked, briefly considering hopping up onto the branch and shoving the male into the pond.

He smirked once more, his head at shoulder level, his body hunched because he wished it to be so, giving the impression he was a feebler being, at least for the moment. He was older, that was for sure, but he wasn't ancient, nor was he quite retiring age yet. He just seemed to act like it. He chuckled darkly as she snapped at him, blind blue eyes seeming to glitter with a macabre mirth as he returned, a bit too smoothly and politely, "And just what are you gonna do about it if I don't...Princess?" He did not stand or move to vacate the branch, merely kept his posture and seat where he was, listening as the moths whispered things of the night to him, much like the voices in a crazy psycopath's head, though Remi's maddness wasn't quite that complete.

Reaper had had enough of this male and his snark, "well you could definitely use a bath." she reared up on her hindlegs and, placing her forepaws against his side, shoved him into the pond, hopping up onto the branch as she smirked down at him.
