The gym is where most of the atheletes in the city come to work out and train. One can often find Lucas, Alex, and the like here working on the majority of their skill sets, or just hanging out and chilling while they take a brief rest.

Lucas entered the training area of the gym, the portion of the facility where he often worked on his own skills and those sections of his abilities that still required some type of work. There were great big sandbags that he used to punch, where he could improve upon his technique, as well as boxing rings that were set up for those such as he to practice their boxing skills with another. Usually Lucas just sparred with whoever was around, but if Alex came to the same gym, and he was pretty sure she did, he might begin working with her in order to improve. Not that he was terrible at what he did - he'd been in this game for awhile now, and was able to hold his own and, in most cases, he won his matches, though he wasn't perfect. His sensitive face, for once, lacked bruises, and his ears were up, pricking with the slightest sound as he headed over to his usual corner. Donning the gloves, protective equipment he always used as he couldn't afford to get hurt, Lucas began his usual routine, warming up his muscles before he began to throw his punches into the resounding force of the bag. His stance was near perfect - he'd had to work on it several times in the past - and his blows held power. Unlike in a match, he didn't move too quickly; here, stamina was more important than speed. Sometimes in an actual match he needed to move like a viper, lightning fast, and so would have to sacrifice stamina, but here, right now, that speed wasn't so important. Here he needed to work on perfecting his movements, not necessarily how fast he hit or with how much power, though the more he trained, the better at controlling each of these he would become. His tail was up, the lemur pattern of the brown and red fur standing out like a sore thumb, clashing gayly with his off toned blue hair, and his sensitive face was hidden from the view of another, as his back was turned to the door. That did not mean he could not be taken unawares, however - he was more than capable of picking up the emotions of those who approached or entered the building, more so than he was used to listening for them. In the times that he had escaped his father, he had become rather reliant on those abilties to aid him, as well as the use of telepathy. The power to read minds was a very useful one, though Lucas hated employing it when he did not have a reason, and would not do so when in the midst of a match. Only when he was forced into a corner of a life and death situation did he every unlock its vast potential, and even then, it was not lightly. Still, he would not cheat in a fight. It was against his boy scout nature.

After running a while Shia ended up at the Gym. She payed for a day pass to see how she liked it and walked in. She glanced around and instatnly caught Lucas's scent. she blushed a tad bit and glanced around the area her ears fully up listening and scanning to see if she could find him. She turned her heand and went towards the climbing training part of the jump and started working on the course from close to the top she spotted him and smiled. this only caused her leg to fall through the gap and she managed to catch her self. She quickly glanced over to see if he saw hoping he didn't and quickly pulled her leg up. She let out a small growl when someone mocked her a little" Hey Careful hot little newbie you could break your neck on there if your not careful. Shia was so tempted to shift forms and jump down right in front of the man and let out a big loud snarling bark making the guy crap his pants but she didn't she managed to keep herself under control though Lucas could tell she didn't like the way the guy spoke to her. She started to work again and did some back flips on the bars with out even glancing back to see where the bar was. She did a side flip with out looking and landed on the lower bar before doing a double back flip and landing on her feet. She glanced at the guys and burshed past the guy that mocked her causing him to fall back and have a whole box of dirty towels fall on him. She glanced back" careful where you stand you might trip and break your neck.. Sweetheart "she said sassily before stretching and climbing again. She glanced over towards the climbing rope near by and lunged out jumping off the highest point. She was graceful in grabbing the rope before she fell and travled from one to the other and glancing over and down towards Lucas while he worked out. She blushed as she could see his muscles working from up here. She started to pay a little more attention on him as she went from one rope to the next.

Lucas could sense eyes on him, but his emapthic powers only picked up...curiosity? At least, he assumed it was curiosity. He wasn't sure what else it could be. He lifted his head, flipping his ears, glancing around. There was a familiar scent here, but he couldn't quite place it. It was similar to Leon's...ah, yeah, he had a sister. A cute one, if Lucas remembered correctly. He didn't see her, but the comment about a hot new female brought his eyes to her, and he offered a wave as he paused, slipping his gloves off and picking up a bottle of water he had bought when he entered the gym, taking a few sips as he cooled off. He would be back at it in a minute, for now he was content just to breathe. His shirt was off, revealing his fine tone, and the six pack of abs je currently possessed, though he managed to remain in a lean figure for the most part. He kept an eye on her for a moment to make sure she had no more trouble out of those men before going back to his own routine, chuckling softly at her sassy remark. So she had some spunk...not unlike Leah. Leah, his sister. Whom he had no clue existed. Leah, whom he should have protected. Leah, who somehow hated their mother. But why? She had said it was because Mom left them, but Lucas didn't buy that. Not at all. She had loved them. Even if she couldn't fully protect them, she had loved them. Lucas knew she had.

Shia waved back as she climbed and jumped from one rope to the other. She was well balanced well until she saw his six pack and almost stumbled. She blushed big time and partly wished his strong arms were wrapped around her and she was pressed against his strong chest. She went to move from one to the other and end up missing the mark as she wasn't watching where she was going. The feeling of falling and him disappearing from view as she goes upside down. she let out a scream as she starts tofall. She moved to grab a hold of the rope only to feel one rope get tied around her anckle she blinked cursing knowing that this was going to hurt. She turned and tried to grab a hold of the robe before it twisted her angle but suddenly the rope snapped tight causign her uper body to whip lash away from the rope and her anckle was twisted causingher to scream out. She winced and tried to get free only to end up a little more tied up. Her hand somehow ended up behind her back as the other one was dangling in the air. the guys from earlier saw this and froze" warned you didn't I sweetheart... now your going to have to beg for help" the one she ended up tripping up said with a smirk. Shia's cheeks went flushing red in both anger and humilation along with pain from her ankle.

Lucas had already gone back to his normal boxing routine, continuing to work on his technique and perfect the mastering task of controlling his aim and how much power he put into a certain blow, though his ears swiveled back every now and then, listening to her movements through the air as she went from one rope to another. She was new here, after all, and he didn't want her to get hurt. Plus, he had made acquaintance with Alex and Leon, and knowing that Shia was related to one of them somehow, since they were allies, he felt it his responsibility to look after her in some form or fashion. Even if he wasn't watching her each and every move; but then, he also didn't want to be labeled a stalker, or creep her out by observing too closely. He swished his tail as he released a particularly powerful punch, the sand bag reverberating with the force of his blow, shivering in the wake of his proposed anger, if there had been anger. Pausing once more - he'd been working furiously now for the past fifteen minutes, giving Shia quite the show with his muscle play, though the young male himself didn't realize it. He was oblivous to such things, and since he'd never really had a girlfriend before, knew flirtation and attraction as completely and utterly foreign territory. However, when she slipped up and he heard her hiss of pain, as well as the taunting from the other men - he was standing still once more, jaws open as he panted, chest heaving against the thin fabric of his tank top, sweat dripping down his back, forehead resting on the otherwise cool surface of the sandbag - he retreated from his work out and the corner he had claimed, taking off his gloves as he made his way over. Being an empath, he could feel her embarrassment, and could sense the subtle vibrations of distaste coming from the men - Lucas had never liked their type, and knew that them coming to Shia's rescue was no good, not with the emotions he was gathering from them. "Alright you guys, knock it off. I'll help her so you all can go back to your own routine." He waved his hand dismissively at them, hoping that, for once, they would listen, before he headed up the ropes to her, but only after using a second or two to take full stock of her predicament. Lucas hung onto a braid nearby, but one that would not put unnecessary pressure or undue strain on her ankle - he didn't want to injure it anymore than it already was. Reaching out, Lucas overed her his hand, which was still clad in his fingerless gloves, at least, to provide some form or fashion of a grip. "Here, take my hand. We'll get you upright first, and you can hang onto my shoulders and torso while I free your ankle. I don't want you to fall face first once it's free." His voice is soft, gentle, sweet and sensitive, like always, revealing his kinder nature and the shyer sweetness that lay close to his heart. And only endeared him to her ever more.

Shia blinked hearing him speak up above them. She glanced over and blushed a bit more. She glanced to see them step back but the guy that was running it all smirked" right like you'd help her.... more like help her take to your home more likely "he mocks. Shia let out a small growl at the mans responce but looked at Lucas when he got up there. She slowly nodded and took his hand with her free hand. She with his help brought her up to be close to his chest. instantly she wrapped her other arm around him and barried her face into his neck and chest to hide her face from view. Her ears were flat against her head and her tail slightly between her legs.

"Nah, not really." Lucas replied to the man's comment, seemingly undisturbed. "My place is a dump. Hers is much nicer; I personally would prefer to run her back to her own home." The light hearted tone he used showed how little offense he took, which was odd - most boxersnhad a temper. But it seemed as if Lucas did not - or that he was merely a hard one to reach, when it came to the fickle matter that was anger. He didn't even glance at the man then, simply focused on the task at hand. Supporting her weight with ease, Lucas then returned his attentions to the most important thing: freeing her ankle. Feeling her bury her head into his neck and chest, he paused, glancing down at her witj a goofu smile thay was soft and sweet in nature as he murmured, "Relax, I won't let you fall. And there's no need to be embarrassed - this happens all the time. I nearly dislocated a shoulder up here before." As he continued to untangle her, he fell quiet, as if in deep concentration, trying desperately not to hurt her. His tongue was sticking out partway, his ears partially back as he struggled to release the very last of the ropes.

Shia just held onto him a little tightly as she felt him work her limbs free from the ropes. She relaxed a little at the thought of not being the only one. She moved some and tried to curl herself up against him which brought the tied leg up closer to him so he could work on it a little easier. Shia blushed more as she took in his scent and her emotions showed that even though she was embarrassed, A she ended up in a vunerable position, B in front of a lot of guys and C in front of the guy She had a crush on. the other emotion he could properly pick up was how she seemed to calm down some and relax in his arms and taking in his scent seeming to enjoy his scent.

Lucas glanced at her as she became quiet, sensing the turmoil of the emotions within her, roiling about her slender, yet attractive form, for the first time noting how athletic she herself was. Biting his lower lip, he flushed a bit himself, beginning to share her embarrassment and seeming a bit sheepish - these thoughts were private, and he wasn't supposed to intrude on such emotional territory...even though he couldn't quite help it. It wasn't like his powers had an off switch; he tried that before. Didn't work. Never did. Probably never would. So the best thing? To return his focus to the task at hand and get her free, while permitting her to relax against him, soothed by the essence of his embrace and the very thing that was him, the very aroma that defined his entire being. He wished he could support her more fully, but he had to keep a grip on the ropes himself, or he would fall, and his free hand was busily working on the knots that had tangled with the chaotic nature of her fall. Just a few more seconds...There. She was free, and her ankle released from the previous strain and pressure that had been put upon it. "Gotcha," he smiled, moving his free hand so that it now supported her weight more fully, permitting her to relax a bit more than before, as she now didn't have to hold onto his neck and shoulders in a death grip to keep from toppling over again. "And you are now officially free. Now we just have to get down from this...without me screwing up myself and getting us both hopelessly tangled." He was joking, of course, with the last bit, his lame, and incredibly awkward, attempt to lighten the mood, sliding down the length of his rope with nary a problem or hindrance, though the thought never occurred to him that Shia might actually enjoy the thought of the two being tangled up in the ropes together....still trying to ignore the fact of her crush, rationalizing it away as a flush of sheepish embarrassment and graditude that he had gotten her down, nothing more, nothing less. And establishing the fact that apparently, he was a good liar to himself.

Shia held onto him and felt him get her leg free which she instantly wrapped around his waist and held on to him. She lifted her head some when his free hand came around her and she still was blushing. She looked up into his eyes and smiled shyly" Thank you "she whispered softly knowing full well he could hear her quiet whisper. She then returned her face to his chest and nuzzled close as they slowly slide down the rope to the ground. hearing about being tangled up with him didn't sound half bad as long as they didn't get hurt if that happened. She let out a little giggle in response to that.

Lucas himself blushed when she wrapped her leg about him, willing himself to stay calm. They were just friends after all, right? The pair technically didn't even know each other...at least not very well. "Er...welcome," he murmured back in response, already lowering them down onto the planes of the earth. For a moment there he'd been left speechless, particularly when he looked into her eyes. Setting down on tye rubber platforms he smiled when she laughed, though he was able to keep his mouth shut rather than blurt out something awkward and embarrassing... Even if it was just barely. "Better?" He asked, meaning he wished to onow if she were able to stand.

Shia still was blushing and once they were both on the ground she waited for a moment before she did anything. After a moment she slowly slide her legs down and put waight on them both" yeah thanks "she said before going to put all her weight on the one foot she gasped with a yelp as she nearly collasped from the pain. She fell against his chest as she lifted her one leg up to keep her foot of the ground. She grabbed onto him and just held to him. Her ears went back as her ankle stung badly. she knew what it ment. her ankle was most likely sprained at the very least.

Lucas didnt push or rush her, instead he just supported the young female as she once more grew adjusted to her surroundings. When she was ready he let her slide slowly down, never quite taking his arm off of her, wanting to be sure she was okay. Wuen she yelped and buckled against him, the male easily caught and supported her, bracing Shia against his masculine, muscular body. "Easy, easy. You alright?" He asked, concern in his deep black eyes, tail by his flank, ears perking forward as he listened desperately for her answer. "Here, lean on me while you catch ypur breath. Is it thay ankle?" He asked, glancing at her injured leg. It was swollen pretty bad. He didnt mean to pry, just ensure she was alright

Shia held onto him and let out a soft whimper as the pain slowly became a throb. She sighed" my ankle I think it's sprained "She said softly. she knew the pain of a sprained ankle. She frowned some and laid her head against him. She kept her bad leg off the ground to keep the weight off it.

"Ouch," he hissed sympathetically when she told him about the sprain - he had figured as much. He could sense the throbbing pulse of her agony as it thrummed through her body, and so, without another word or even a request, Lucas merely scooped her up within the strong embrace of his arms, and prepared to take her home. "Dont worry," he murmured, "Ill get you home." One hand was braced up beneath her slender legs, and Lucas blushed, hoping she didnt find this too embarrassing. The other was around her back and midsection, tucking her firmly against his lanky body. "You don't need to be walking around on it."

Shia blushed when he picked her up and she looked up at him. She nodded" thank you Lucas "She said gently and snuggled her face into his chest. Her heart skipped a beat as she took in his scent. it surprisingly kept her calm... the last time she sprained her ankle was when she was escaping from that city that was distroyed. but taken in his scent kept her from having a PTSD episode then and there.

"No problem," Lucad replied lightly, even though he swallowed nervously. "What are friends for?" He wasnt used to having someone so close, and it was odd having another in his personal space while he wasnt training or boxing, but Lucad had to admit, it wasnt that bad. Sensing that he gave her comfort, the male with off tone blue hair smiled, then continued on his merry way, ignoring the taunts of the other males while they yelled, as they werent worth tue time it took to think the insults that would have otherwise risen to his lips, nor were they worth the normally minuscule amounts of effort put into such.

Shia held onto him and blushed some hearing him say friends and heard his nervous swallow. She had a happy tingly feeling come up when he said she was his friend" yeah "she said gently and let him carry her out. Hearing the mocks and taughts how ever caused her to growl and glare at them. Anger rose in her but as she is now with her ankle she didn't want to push it remembering how long it took to heal after what happened last time. She didn't look at them and barried her face into Lucas's face taking in his scent which still managed to help her stay calm.
