An Elven faith healer, Chandler makes his home in a remote mountain area, where the solitude he craves is abundant, yet where his doors are always open to those in need of his healing services.

Raylie flew fast and hard not knowing where she was now and glanced back towards the lake she was at not knowing how close to the tree line she was until she felt a branch scrap across her stomach and her wings hitting the branches. She blinked and tried to correct herself but it was to late. She was sent flying down hitting several trees and branches along the way that luckly slowed her landing down. She went crashing into a tree before tumbling over the edge of a cliff and rolling down it into a small creek/ river bed at the bottom. She landed against the rocks and slide into the water. She blinked and tried to get her head above the water but soon slipped under and didn't struggle. She felt pain shoot through her body. Her entire body was in pain but her gut felt like it was being twisted up tight and pulled out of her.

Chandler had been out and about in the lands, collecting various herbs he might need for those who came to his home in need of medical assistance when he heard the splintering crash of tree branches, and the scrape of clothing and flesh against the gritty surface of rocks, the resounding splash of a body hitting the concrete surface of the water. A quick turn was all it took for him to glimpse a pale hand as it slipped beneath the surface, and he inwardly cursed - he had fought hard to keep from turning, to keep from seeing. He had enough problems without another wounded animal - but this was different. That was a girl, a human being he now had to save. Which meant he was about to get wet. Stripping off his black shirt, Chandler dashed over to the river bed, diving into the waters where he made his powerful way towards the floating body of the girl, for all his bitter sarcasticness, praying he was not to late. Hauling her from the watery depths, Chandler laid her out along the rocky shore, pressing his fingers to her neck to find a faint, thready pulse. She was limp and cold, shivering as she weakly coughed up water, and Chandler lifted her, wrapping her up in his shirt for a bit of warmth as he balanced her legs over one hand, the other supporting her back. He would have to get her back soon so that he could fully examine her, but for now all he murmured to her, in his soothing, whimsical voice, was a soft, gentle, "Easy. Ive got you. You're safe now." It was the last thing she heard before she lost consciousness.

Raylie blinked and watched as the current took her thinking that this was it she had taken her last breath Before she felt a hand grab her. She blinked and coughed up water when he pulled her to shore. She trembled from the tempature change. She heard his voice and managed to look up at him for a second before her eyes drifted shut and sleep took her away from this world and protected her from the pain she was overwhelmed with.

Chandler, having lifted her easily in his arms, glanced back at his herb basket with a slight tsk - he wouldn't be able to take it now. Which meant another trip out after he got her home, put into bed, and taken care of so that she might have a chance to rest and to heal. Cradling her closer to his form, Chandler kept her so snugly within his arms not just to ensure she didn't fall and land flat on her face should he slip, but to share his body heat with her as well, as the shirt he'd wrapped about her was far from enough, and he knew it. Still, it was all he had, and better than nothing, but he knew he had better get moving. The sooner he got her out of the chill morning air the better, and there always remained the fact of her wounds to be dealt with, as well as the fact he'd have to ensure she wasn't going to drown later due to residual water left in her lungs. Grumbling beneath his breath, he found a more shallow area, where there were stepping stones, and half walked, half waded through, slipping every now and again where he wasn't able to quite see the earth below him. Finally, he made it to shore, and from there, took his painstaking way up to his cabin, pushing open the door with a bare shoulder, the sun glimpsing off his dragon tattoo, not that Raylie would see it - she was out cold, or at least, appeared to be, though Chandler was sure she was stirring every now and again from the indadvertently rough treatment. He was being gentle as he could, but there was only so much one could accomplish in that manner when it came to crossing a river and hiking up a rocky trail - particularly a difficult one such as that which lead to his remote home. Entering his dwelling, Chandler took a deep breath, feeling the calming scent of the herbs wash over him as he made his way to the back portion, where the guest beds stood, all five tucked in a neat row and painstakingly made, ready for their next use and available for their future tenant. Setting the girl down upon one such mattress, Chandler immediately set to work upon stripping off her soaked clothes - it was vital he get her core temperature back up, and in wet garments, there simply was no way to do it. He was professional and polite the entire time; the windows were shuttered and he'd kicked the door shut on his way in, so there was privacy, and he pulled out some spare fabrics he had in a nearby wardrobe for just such occasions once he was done, quickly wrapped her in them before pulling back the covers and tucking her into the safety and warmth of the bed. Edging the thick woolen blanket beneath her shoulder blades, Chandler fetched at least three more of the tools and wrapped them about her for good measure, even stoking the fire to bring it to a heating blaze, pulling up a chair and taking a seat beside her - now it was down to business. Placing a hand on her forehead, Chandler felt her twitch, hearing a soft moan as her teeth began to chatter, and he promptly swathed her in another blanket, leaving her wet clothing in a huddle pile on the floor in front of the fire. Taking a deep breath, he dove into the essence of his magic, the healing energies he so easily controlled, and closed his eyes, matching his breathing, his heart rthym, to her own, syncing his physical form to Raylie in an effort to determine the exact nature of her ailments, as well as to mend them. He was hit by an immediate onslaught of pain, and resulting his echoed from his clenched teeth, though he did not break contact, nor did he give in. Sorting through the mixture of emotions and the various assualts, he determined what was what, and which was more serious. Though bumped and bruised from her fall, and left weakened due to her dip in the river in addition to her hypothermia, Chandler wasn't as concerned about them as he was the child that she had once carried - it was dead now, he could tell, there was no essence, no spark, of life that would indicate it still thrived, and it had been gone for quite awhile. Along with this old burden were several wounds that were yet to be healed, coinciding with the time of pregnancy, leading Chandler to an educated belief of abuse, though he could not fathom who it was, or who would even have the stomach for such. One thing was for sure, if he didn't take care of the miscarriage now, she was sure to get an even worse infection, and likely wasn't to make it. So that was the first thing he did, clearing away the dead tissues and mending what had been broken, sealing off her womb from further damage and infection, as well as aiding the tissues that had been traumatized at the same time. That done, he knew she wasn't out of the woods yet, not by a long shot, as he couldn't rid her of the lingering effects of the tragic death, there was just a hint of sourness there his healing couldn't cure (his herbs would do the trick if it progressed and got worse, even though he hoped to nip it in the bud), before he moved onto the more recent injuries, feeling her twitch and gasp in pain. Sweat covered his body, dampened his hair, and he felt his muscles cramp - he must have been here awhile already - but still he did not stop, nor did he even entertain the idea or notion to quit.

Raylie was pretty out of it for the most part only stirring every now and then and was starting to calm down. Her wings were soaked and dripping wet. Her wings slowly moved out of the way when he laid her down. They were in pretty bad shape clearly had been caught on some branchs and a several of her wing bones were broke. One wing had a stink sticking through it. After a while and he dealt with the miscarrage and the worst injuries she was starting to be in a slightly lighter sleep but was still far from waking up. Her hand twitched some as it moved ever so slightly towards his.

Chandler had gently removed the stick from the expanse of her pristine white wing feathers, moving on from the miscarriage at that point, having dealt with the dead fetus and resulting infection, as well as having mended (mostly) her more serious injuries, those that were life threatening, anyway. The great many breaks he found in the hollow bird bones were the next thing on his list, and Chandler knew he had to mend them next if she were to have a chance, as these fractures could be just as serious. It took several hours for him to complete all this work, and he did not stop until he felt her hand curl around his, bringing him fully from the meditation he had begun to disassociate from anyway. Blinking, Chandler returned to his present state of mind to find he had sweated his clothes through, not having stripped off his shirt as he normally did beforehand, and he sighed, taking his hand and tiredly rubbing his eyes. He had yet more to do, such as bandage and stitch all of her lesser wounds.

Raylie stirred sightly as she rested. Her hand stayed wrapped around his a little tightly as if she was hanging on for dear life. Her eyes flickered ever so slightly as she seemed to be dreaming of something. her breathing going between calm and a little heavy. her grip tightened ever so slightly.

"Easy," Chandler murmured, smoothing her hair back from her face. "Easy. Just rest, you're safe here. Relax." His voice is soft, calming. Gentle. Breathing a heavy sigh, Chandler finished her treatment before pullinh the heavy covers up below her chin, knowing that what she needed now was rest. As much of it as she could get.
