Thana walked into the lands with Kona his jacket protecting her.. "So... How did you get those... if.. you dont mind me asking" Thana asks speaking about her scars.. he kept his voice soft.. gentle.. as if he would spook her and cause her to flee otherwise. "Do... i make you nervous Kona.?" He also asks as they paused to rest under a tree for a moment. he sat down first his tall form seeming less imposeing as he sat and she stood. "I dont mean to scare you.... " He looked down as if he felt guilty or had done something wrong. He was still trying to figure her out and how to talk to her. what wouldnt spook or scare her "I know... Your probably scared of me like everyone else once they know what i can do..." He began to come down on himself drawing his legs up close to him as he sat before looking up at her.. now that the others were gone.. perhaps her nervs would allow her to perhasp loosen up and not be so timid. it was dark out now and thana's warmth could be nice to feel if she was still cold from the bitter chill of the night. He didnt seem to opposed for her to sit next to him so perhaps he wouldnt mind if she had enough courage to sit near him

Konata shivered as he sat, blinking briefly at him as he spoke, the over large surface that were her ears flicking forward to better catch his tone and words, before she looked back down at the ground again, edging herself to the earthen surface when he chose to sit. Not the shadows, she thought to herself. Anywhere but the shadows. But the night was cool, and the tree trunk provided a good support for one to rest their back on - until she remembered that he couldn't do such, as then the tree would die. So much for that idea then. Why were they sitting other the trees, in the dark, nearer to the spirits? Konata shuddered as she thought about it, feeling their presence lingering as it tingled up her spine, causing the black fur to shimmer in a glossy light as it glittered under the stars, the glimmering pattern that were her golden markings seeming to move and shift along with her lithe body, something he might have noticed should he look closely at her. The elegant scrawls were all along her dorsal side, beginning at the curve of her shoulders and stretching back to the top of her flanks, and, less visible due to the fluffy monstrosity that was her tail being tucked around her, their shimmering surface was copied on a much smaller scale along both her front and hind paws, creating pin pricks of light in the darkness where she hid, the glinting silver of her eyes no more than a flash or two here and there, just enough to alert one that there was something...inhuman lingering there in the sheltering swath of the shades. She would not meet his eye as Thanatos spoke to her, merely kept near him, not abandoning the strange male as some were prone to doing, even if she kept her head down and tucked, the surface of his jacket strewn across her slender shoulders even now. But it was clear by this point she was not just shivering from the cold - there was something else going on here, some other unknown factor, though Thanatos himself could not determine what. He could always ask, if he so chose. But then again, knowing Kona, he might not get an answer. She seemed reluctant to speak to him now, her gaze trained on the area outside of them, her fur ruffling beneath the expanse of the jacket, almost as if her hackles were up, and her tail curling around her front paws, hiding the pinking white of her scars. She whispered, after several moments of silence, in which the young male didn't think she was going to reveal anything, "B-bear a-attack." It made sense. The great injuries looked as if they had been wrought by that massive paw, and it would explain her limping gait - the muscles and bone had also been injured, and could never completely, fully, heal. Listening to the gentler tone of his voice, as if he thought he might spook her, Kona shook her head, whispering after another moment, an achingly long pause, "N-n-no....it's n-not y-you. I-I-I..." She trailed off, looking at her paws miserably, before her head shot up, ears sliding forward and pricking, though Thanatos heard nothing, could sense nothing, see or smell nothing, though Konata was edging closer to him, curling more tightly into herself, so it seemed. She looked almost panicked, with her breath catching in her chest, her body and muscles going rigid, her Dire large form hunkering down as she stepped back, scooting closer to the male whose touch she could withstand without so much as a flinch or a doubt, the idea she felt threatened or afraid of something very clear, though she did not growl or show the typical signs of Wolven aggression.

Thana was a bit surprised when she cowered into him and it made him scan the area even more... "Konata... what is it..?" He asks his voice a hushed whisper as if he wasnt sure who was watching them.. and to her surprise... he put an arm around her letting her press closer... drawing her into the comforting warmth that was his body... soothing away the fears.. if slightly... perhaps... they would leave them alone... perhaps they would give thana respect as he is the harbenger of death... and leave the two alone for the time being... "I cant see anyone... what has you so spooked...?" He asks before deciding perhaps it was the darkness... with a small shuffle of his other hand he had grabbed a few freshly broken twigs.. quickly killing what little life they had left drying them out... and constructed a small stick pile infront of them and lit it with a flick of his knife against a stone... the calming light forceing the shadows to retreat back into a safe distance... perhaps bringing some comfort to the timid female who had clung so helplessly to his side..." I used to be afraid of the dark too... its okay Kona..." He spoke soothingly to her.. as the fire caused the spirits to retreat into the shadows away from the tree and the duo beneath it..

Konata blinked as he lit the fire, then glanced over at him and the small flame, shivering once more as she heard a shriek that belonged to no creature of the living, the pale form of the spirit that only Konata herself could see flinching away, disappearing in a ghostly flare that winked out of the plane of existence within the blink of an eye, taking no longer than the span of a mere heartbeat before it left the pair in peace, and as the sensation of the crowding spirits eased, Konata relaxed ever so slightly, though she still moved behind Thanatos to support him as he went to lean back, permitting him to rest against the dark and golden fluff that was her fur, a coat that was surprisingly warm to the touch, and could easily lull him into the idea of taking a nap if he so desired while Konata herself kept watch. When he had initially wrapped his arm around her as she hunkered down and backed away, her ears swiveling to the halfway portion of her skull, unable to decide if she wanted to flatten them or leave them pricked, she had flinched, almost like she expected to be hit, but then, when he had drawn her against his side, she had only shivered, staring out into the unknown blackness soundlessly, as if left unable to speak. Now, though, with the soft firelight that lit their little area, Konata seemed a bit calmer, though she was still watchful, and quite clearly observant, able to stay up and sit guard, a mere silouhette against the oncoming blackness.

Thana relaxed a bit finding her warmth rather nice.. Although observing her flinch so horribly at his action of just pure kindness made him hurt a bit.. "Kona... Do... you really think i would hit you...?" Thana asks softly breaking the silence once more and perhaps making her feel rather guilty for being so jumpy.. She could tell his voice was a bit tired and her warmth comforted and soothed him to relax... it was nice.. heavenly actualy... he closed his eyes fora few moments as he let her scent gently enter his nose finding it to be rather nice... "I dont mean to scare you... Im sorry..." He apologized again dispite him not doing anything wrong... yet speaking as if he did yet again which could concern her.. how he always seemed to think he was causeing problems.. perhaps it was embeddedinto his mind form how people always blamed him... He fought the urge to nap.. not wanting to leave her alone although she easily could sooth him into a slumber if she so desired... "Whats... it like.. being a wolven...?" He asks tiredly yet refuseing to go into his sleep...

Konata glanced down at him as he leaned against her and murmured sleepily, her fluffy tail curling around so that it was in front of him while she remained braced behind, offering a soft pillow as she kept her body positioned so his head rested one her chest, some of the longer strands of her thick fur perhaps tickling his nose, the ears upon her head, much to large for someone of her size, flicking to and fro with the gentle sounds of the night, the atmosphere mercifully free of ghosts and spirits. "S-s-s-sorry," she murmured, not quite meeting his eye as he asked if she thought he would actually hit her. "T-t-t-training r-reflex, I-I g-guess," she managed to stammer out, though it was up to Thanatos whether or not he actually believed her. It wasn't something one was taught in training. It came from being brutally abused. There was much about her past that was dark and murky, and when considering how timid she was in addition to her fear of the dark and how she would wince away from touch, perhaps Thanatos would put two and two together. Perhaps not. It all depended on him, really, and how closely he was paying attention. "Y-y-you don't s-s-scare m-me," she whispered in reply, even though she still would not meet his eyes, looking away as he gazed up at her, blinking in shame as she found she just simply could not do it - she was too well trained by her mother, too immersed in the ways of heartbreak or hardship. Even back home, all she had gotten was begruding tolerance, and she had been left alone, not knowing what to do with herself or how to communicate. Now, here, in Volcano, people actually loved her and accepted her, and...Kona...simply didn't know what to do with it. How to act. How to feel. How she should return the favor. It left her confused and bemuddled, and she simply couldn't cope. His question surprised her, however, and she glanced at him briefly, her fluffy tail draping around in front of him to offer extra warmth and protection, and perhaps give some semblance of a living, moving blanket, soft and plush in its essence. She shrugged, he could feel the movement of her shoulders from his positioning against her chest, and she whispers, quietly, softly, "I-I-I d-don't r-really k-know a-anything d-d-different. I..I was b-born a D-Dire B-Blood." She used the derogatory name for her kind as if it were the most natural, apparently not even really thinking much of herself.

KASHUS: The large male journeyed near the outskirts of what he hadn't realized were active pack lands. He had noticed the stale scent of the Alpha relieving themselves which was the way of marking territory between canines. He was a husky wolf, very large and muscular. His muzzle has some scars yet they weren't as flattering as the ones that covered his face and his body, one would think he was fit to be the Alpha of his own pack yet he turned those offers down. He served packs, he didn't lead them. He hated the idea of wolves eating up every word he said. Kash served in many wars and was known as one of the deadliest soldiers, yet every war had their due and he was left with 4 more lives. It wasn't something he would up and share with everyone. The male with the dark colored and matted coat lowered his muzzle to the ground to update his senses on where he was. Something caught his attention, it was something familiar. A certain sent. It was unsettling, mostly because he hadn't been here in decades. The male remained alert and journeyed further into the territory.

Thana moved a bit and swivled aroudn so his back was to the world now.. so he was looking at Kona's form and gently cupped her face with his hands... Before she could stammer out anything Thana softly hushed her his voice more quiet and gentle then she had ever experianced before from him "Shhh.... Its okay... Look at me Kona... im not here to hurt you... Not here to use or abuse you... I can tell there are horrible things in your mind from your past... i can see it... sense it... You dont have to shelter it from me if you dont want to... I can see how you have been abused.... hurt... trained into... into this submission... Its all over though... your not in that place anymore... your not alone anymore either..." Thana ended up pulling her into a gentle hug... something so new and unknown to her but... perhaps this time.. just this once she would let he guard down... let herself press into his welcomeing warm enbrace... perhaps even letting some tears leak out as the pain of how she had been treated surfaced as he tried to calm and console the shivering shewolf infront of him... His hand moved from resting on the back of her neck to the tip of her ears gently beginning to rub them... as he had assumed wolven must like this.. their feral counterparts did so perhaps they did as well.. his hands worked gently at the two oversized ears atop her head as his other gently rubbed along her back.. Thana was being actualy genuine... showing he cared.. showing that if she let him she wouldnt be alone anymore...

Site Owner Posts: 550 | Konata nearly leaped out of her skin when he turned so suddenly and cupped her face in his hands, holding her steady even of she would have tried to pull away before releasing her head, which she promptly lifted past his realm of influence - until he hugged her and she was forced to be pressed close tochim, shivering once more. She just couldnt help it, such was her natural reaction, and though she seemed more comfortable with him than anyone else, there was still this fact, and perhaps it would always be so. One could never tell for sure. Konata permitted him to embrace her, however, flicking her ears with a soft whimper as he stroked them - it did feel nice, but he was still touching her, and closer than was comfortable in her personal space. A soft sound demanded her attention then, and Konatas head jerked up as an unknown male entered their surroundings, her hackles rising as she bristled and the sharp glint of her teeth flashing her Dire Blooded fangs...which meant nothing, as this behemoth sported a pair of his own, and was at least twice, if not three times, Konatas own size. Still that did not stop her from peeling back her lips and baring the pearly whites of her teeth in a snarl, her tail fluffing and her body growing rigid as she stood, ears flattening against the sleek surface of her lupine head, a growl rumbling deep in her throat at his hesitant and meager approach, which might habe shocked Thanatos - before she was so meek, so timid, she wouldnt even look him in the eyes, and now here she was, up on her paws, glaring at this stranger, this male she did not know who was by far bigger than her, and growling in a snarl to boot. It was almost like a completely different wolf.

Feeling her tense up uncomfortable Thama withdrew quickly and looked down "Sorry... i.. guess i just do make things worse...' He apologised thinking he probably was freaking her out worse now... Thana seemed to even beathimself up a bit before Kona suddenly stood snarling at the stranger Thana turned around to see. It was shocking to say the least seeing kona go from how she was to standing her ground agaunst a male that was bigger and stronger then she "Kona take it easy.. we dont even know who this guy is..." He spoke to her unsure of what to make of this whole situation. Thana was a human which could potentially make him a target to be attacked by some wolven
